Not My Time by Charlotte B.

Charlotte has been in our youth group for a few years and has just graduated and will be pursuing Calvary Chapel School of Worship! I'm am so jealous and excited for all the Lord has in store for her! She has been a solid teen in our youth and a source of humor and compassion!

Not My Time: Jeremiah 29:11

I know, I know. You got me, I'm going to talk about future. It's practical, though- isn't it?

I know for me, I worry so much, despite what God keeps telling me about worry:

Caste all your cares upon the Lord.

Easier said than done, right? College, career, marriage, children-- or not? For me, I struggle with these things. From what I've seen and heard, I know I'm not alone- some of you struggle with it too, right?

It's okay. Striving for these kinds of things isn't a bad thing! Breathe out that sigh of relief, now.

But here's the thing. Two things, actually. Is it replacing God? And are you worried that He wont provide?

Yeah, I know- these are pretty difficult questions to answer, but luck for us! The Bible lays out what's an Idol (replacement of God.) and actual promises-- because let's face it, He DOES provide!

We all go through some kind of loss that tends to shake our faith, more often than not- but hey! Look at the beautiful promise God gives us:

Joel 2:25 "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you."

Though you may be worried and super scared to move, just know that it's fine. You're okay, and it's normal. We all go through it, even the people who are "the Great Christians."

Doubt and trying to take control over your life is hard. But God says that if we cast these cares to Him, and Trust Him, He will take care of it. I know for myself, is that he hasn't taken back a promise yet, no matter where you come from, what situation your in, or what walk in life you have. God is Faithful.

So, all you have to do is simply give it to Him. Everything. Total surrender, and He will take it and do something so beautiful and fantastic- so far from what you wanted in the first place, that you'll just be so blessed.
